Superabsorbent Polymer (SAP)

Here we present the near ambient pressure characterization of the surface of a superabsorbent polymer (SAP) as an example of functional material analysis under application relevant conditions. EnviroESCA's ability to work in real world sample environments allows XPS surface analysis of hydrophilic polymer samples loaded with different amounts of water. Neutralization of this insulating product is accomplished by Environmental Charge Compensation enabling X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy on these type of materials with ease.

Italian Hard Cheese

We present the near ambient pressure surface analysis of the surface of an italian hard cheese as an example for specimens that can not be analyzed in classical ultra high vacuum XPS systems. EnviroESCA is able to work in such high pressures that XPS surface analysis is even possible on wet or fatty samples.

This week we are presenting the near ambient pressure surface analysis of the surface of unprinted and printed paper as an example of how EnviroESCA can be used to investigate the surface characteristics of paper and other pulp products and help to optimize further production or finalizing process steps to significantly increase and tune the interction between the paper surface and the printing ink.
