  Sesame Seed investigated with EnviroESCA

Sesame Seed

Here we present the near ambient pressure surface analysis of the surface of untreated sesame seeds as an example for insulating samples that can be analyzed in bulk quantities. Neutralization of this insulating natural product is accomplished by Environmental Charge Compensation enabling X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy on biological material with ease.

EnviroESCA can be used to analyze the outer surfaces of organic and industrial produced food under near ambient pressure conditions.
A common christmas treat was chosen as an example for this sample category. Its surfaces were studied in Argon and a working pressure of 1 mbar using the EnviroESCA.



  Coffee Bean investigated with EnviroESCA

Coffee Bean

EnviroESCA can be used to analyze common food and biological samples in their native state under near ambient pressure conditions. Exemplarily a roasted coffee bean was chosen and its surfaces were studied in ambient air and a working pressure of 1 mbar using the EnviroESCA.
